My Story

I have always been passionate about working with children and have had many wonderful opportunities to do so. I began coaching baton twirling while in high school which led to obtaining an elementary education degree followed by substitute teaching. While raising my children, both foster kids and foreign exchange students were welcomed into our home. I also opened a preschool program serving infants through 6 year olds. After 23 years I closed the preschool and moved to Arizona where I’m closer to my family and substitute teaching again.

In the early 1980s I began learning photography with my first and only film camera, a Nikon FM2. Eventually I went through several of the early digital cameras. Then in 2012 as a needed recovery from personal family trauma, I purchased more digital cameras for the girls and I, a Ford Explorer, and a pop-up tent trailer to take us on our newest photographic journey!

I loved taking pictures of waterfalls, rivers, ocean beaches, flowers and forest trails. But, I was most fortunate to have children to work with every day. Creating beautiful images of children brings joy to me, so I’ve decided to work with children in a new capacity and open a photography studio just for kids.

Collaborating with families to create beautiful photographic images that portray their stories has been an aspiration of mine for several years. I look forward to photographing your family and creating portraits you will cherish forever.
